It is true that crabs do NOT carry diseases. Any information that is contrary to this fact regarding communicable diseases in Hermit Crabs (coenobita clypeatus) is FALSE AND SCIENTIFICALLY UNFOUNDED.
There has NEVER been an instance where an individual has contacted or developed any illness by coming in contact with a Hermit Crab (Coenobita Clypeatus).
FMR (Florida Marine Research) has had extensive work done through state labs verifying this information.
Hermit Crabs have been offered to the public since 1953.
NO INCIDENCE of illness has ever been recorded.
